South Africa to Thailand. Day 7

This last post has literally taken me 2 months to write. Not because I didn't know what to write, but simply because I became lazy! *insert dramatic gasp here*

Now, I would just start on a new post and leave day 7 out of my itinerary completely (and I'm sure you would not even miss it) but I just cannot leave this unfinished. It will haunt me. So I will give you a very quick run through of what happened on day 7, our last day in Thailand.
(Please, I need to do this or I wont be able to post anything else.)

On day 7, Warren and I had absolutely nothing planned for the day. We spoke to concierge the night before and advised them that our flight was very late the next day and would like to check out later. This gave us time to actually sleep in. Something we were not able to do for the past week. It was heavenly!
After checking out and leaving our luggage at the front desk, Warren and I decided to get lunch at a mall up the road from the hotel and then spend the day venturing further down the road looking for last minute gifts. It started pouring with rain! A proper storm! Thunder, lightning and buckets of rain! Which was very welcome as just a few minutes before the rain had started we were sweating in our "unmentionable areas" The heat was killing us.

This last day was spent eating all our favourite treats one last time before we left. It was spent using up all our Baht, as we knew we would not be needing it again anytime soon.

(This is quite possibly the best ice-cream cone and icecream I have ever had - Was so yummy)

(A simple rice dish with chicken pieces, but made so well, Warren and I had TWO helpings)

Fast forward to 8pm when our taxi driver came to pick us up from the hotel and off we went to Phuket Airport to start our very long journey home! (It really was a very long journey)
A few hours spent in Bangkok, a few hours spent in Abu Dhabi, a few more spent in Johannesburg and we were finally home!
I got home, hopped into my pajamas and spent the next few hours sleeping. Dreaming of what was quite possibly my best holiday EVER!!
It was good to be back home!
