5 things we should ALWAYS remember to tell ourselves!

I made a very bold and daring decision in my life recently. Its not the kind of thing I usually do. As much as I like to think that I am spontaneous, I'm not. My spontaneity reaches as far as going for drinks in the week with my girlfriends. Along with bold decisions comes criticism. Lots of it! For the most part, people were very supportive, but there were people who thought that I had completely lost my mind. I took the criticism personally and ended up feeling really sorry for myself. This is why I came up with 5 things to tell yourself everyday, not just when you are feeling down.
My hope is that by telling myself these 5 things I will be able to tackle any bad words thrown my way.

1) I Love You!
Why is it easy for us to tell others that we love them, but completely forget to love ourselves? Tell yourself that you love yourself! When you love someone you want only the best for them, you want to always protect them and make them happy! When you love yourself you wont need the approval of others. So love yourself! Tell yourself that you love yourself! And tell yourself that often too.

2) You're beautiful!
Dont wait for someone else to tell you the obvious! You are a woman and you are stunning! The fact that you have stretch marks, cellulite and curves does not take anything away from your beauty and the power you posses as a woman! There really is nothing sexier than a woman that knows her worth and that she is beautiful! Own it, work it and don't believe any-one that tells you otherwise.

3) You're strong!
When you say this, mean it. You ARE strong. You have taken knocks in the past and regardless of how you feel now, you came out on the other side stronger than before. We need to give ourselves more credit for our strength! Regardless of how sheltered your life may be, you get your period every month! That alone should show you just how strong you are.  Period pain is no joke, so every month that you suffer in silence, remember that you are one strong woman!

4) I'm not ok!
It's ok to not be ok! It's ok to admit defeat every now and again. Its ok to cry and get angry. It's not ok however to stay in that funk for more than is necessary. Tell yourself that you are not ok, and then try to deal with it so that you can soon be ok!

5) You deserve this!
And you really do deserve it! Whatever "it" may be. Do things for you! You want to go on holiday? Go for it - you deserve this! You want to learn a new language? Go for it - you deserve this! Follow your dreams and don't let any-one tell you how frivolous they may seem or that they are too big to be achieved! You only have one life, so live it to the fullest. Do things that make you happy, no matter how crazy they may seem. You will have the best stories to tell your kids one day!
