I've compiled a list of 5 things we should always remember to tell our partners.
1) I Love You.
I'm sure they know that you love them, but don't forget to tell them. There is no better feeling than getting that unexpected text message from your partner just saying: "I love you" or if you're at home, doing your chores and he says, " I just want you to know that I Love you" The gesture doesn't have to be big, it doesn't have to be written in the sky, it just has to be sincere. Don't let your life become so busy that you forget to tell them that you love them.
2) Thank you.
Don't become that person that takes your partner for granted and you do not thank them for the things they do for you. Whether she makes you a cup of coffee, or he picks you up from work, don't forget to say thank you. Those simple words will make your partner feel that they are not being taken for granted and the things they do are being acknowledged!I feel like a random "thank you for all you do for me" can make up for so much wrong you may have done. Try it! I dare you to "forget" her birthday and then the next day go up to her and say: "Babe, thank you, I appreciate you" (I'm lying! DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!) Point is, telling your partner that they are appreciated will do wonders for their day! It will do wonders for their week! Never let them forget that they are appreciated.
3) You make me happy.
You guys fight and argue and you say things in the heat of the moment and they make you sad and angry, but they also make you happy! Remember to acknowledge the happy moments. Remember to tell them that they make your heart happy! It will make your partner happy to hear you say they make you happy!
4) You're beautiful.
Or you're handsome for that matter. Every partner be it male or female wants to know that their significant other finds them attractive. Make sure you tell your girlfriend, wife, fiance' etc that you find them beautiful. Don't wait until she is all dressed up and ready to go out to some place fancy. Tell her when she is on her way out to work that you think she looks beautiful. The same thing can be said for the ladies. We are so eager to have the guys tell us we look beautiful, but don't forget that they are human too and they like to hear it too! Tell him he looks handsome. And tell him often. Don't let him forget that he is an attractive male specie!
5) You're my hero.
This one seems silly, but the fact that he watches all these superhero movies should make you realise that he too wants to be a hero! Tell him that! There are things that he does for you that you would not be able to do on your own. He changes the tyres for you, he opens tight jars for you. (Think of all those jams and sauces or pickles you would have had to go without if he didn't open the jar for you!) He makes you feel safe at night, and would kill someone with his bare hands if you were threatened. So tell him that he is your hero or your "rock". Let him know that even though you are a strong independent woman you depend on him too.
This point seems very much directed at the ladies. Guys, this is for you too. There are also women superheros around that we envy - Laura Croft, Cat woman etc. Instead of fighting bad guys we fight the grime and dirt in the bathroom! We might not be able to change tyres or kill someone with our bare hands, (wait, I take that back. Have you seen a jealous girlfriend attack some slut making a move on her boyfriend?) but we would go to the ends of the earth for you,to make sure you are happy. You may be able to survive very well without her, but don't let her feel that way. Tell her that she is your hero and that you look up to her for all she does for you.
So, Warren, this one is for you:
Thank you for all that you do for me, you make my heart happy, I appreciate you and the role you play in my life. You are my handsome hero and I love you!
